Many people like to know a little about the company behind the products they buy, so we'll use this page to provide more information about our business philosophy, history, and employees. Our Business Philosophy In today's world, the driving force behind corporate planning can be summed up in one word - PROFIT! As a result, the "channel" for selling cell phones has been clogged with too many direct employees following the pattern established years ago by the insurance industry (i.e. hire everybody who can walk, let them sell all their friends, then turn them loose!).
The alternate channel is called the "Indirect Channel". In simple terms, this means resellers (some people call them dealers). It is generally not necessary to have experience or capability, only the money to invest in securing a storefront location in a high traffic retail area. Resellers run the gambit from mom and pop operations who also sell used cars, beanie babies (remember them?) and even dry cleaning, pawn shops etc. all the way up to the mega retailers who offer cell phones along with office supplies, refrigerators, TV's and heaven only knows what else.
The prepaid market is served by gas stations, convenience stores and car title pawn places that may also offer long distance cards for one cent per minute (they forget to tell you about the seventy-five cent connect fee), and perhaps prepaid home phone service.
We're different - real different! We are trained, experienced communications professionals - it's all we do and all we want to do. We have three retail store locations, and outside sales team, multiple Internet sites, and a business plan based on doing business as best we can with people like you!
We've got to make a profit, but this is not our only goal. We want to provide a secure place of employment, to contribute to the community in which we live and provide genuine value to those we serve. We are NOT your average cell phone store!
Our Company Our founder, Burch Falkner, has been in the communications business for over 40 years. He started the communications division of Chapman Communications back in the early sixties. The paging division of Chapman Communications later evolved into PageNet (now owned by Arch Communications). The 2-way radio business, then primarily General Electric has evolved into our present activities which involve Motorola, TEKK, and Vertex private radio systems, our own locally owned paging company, a specialty manufacturing operation, and serving as indirect channel partners with Sprint PCS.
Corporate offices are maintained in Center Point in a building jointly owned with a local realtor.
We are members of both the Irondale and Trussville Chambers of Commerce and invite your further review of our company either through Dun & Bradstreet or the Better Business Bureau.
Falcon Wireless is a subsidiary of A2Z Communications, Inc., an Alabama Corporation and successor to Falcon Direct, Inc. founded in 1990.

Suzanne Falkner, our President, is aided by Michelle Hampton, and Tracy Teague at our Center Point offices. Burch Falkner, our CEO divides his time between retailing, engineering, and production assisted by Lonnie Underwood, our chief technician.
Carol Hooten leads our outside sales team and we have one of the largest Internet presences of any wireless communications provider.
