Cyclops is a proactive joint venture between participating communities and local area merchants. The objective to is to reduce losses attributable to burglary and vandalism of unattended premises while simultaneously adding a level of safety for law enforcement officers responding to burglary calls.
Burglary and vandalism drive up insurance costs, disrupt business, absorb patrol officers time, and in many cases put the safety of the officer in jeopardy. As good as private security agencies may be, the are areas for improvement. The central station monitoring unit may be located many miles away served by just operators handling hundreds or thousands of accounts. This can result in call processing delays. Quick response by law enforcement is the key to effective response. Cyclops provides a solution.
